This means that we can now print <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over-molded parts, which consist of a soft, rubbery, textured material over a harder substrate, and living hinges, like the hinge you might find on a ketchup bottle top. We can also print integrated flexible spring features for functional one-piece designs.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.daed.com\/?attachment_id=4179\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4179\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-4179\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.daed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Swatches.png\" alt=\"A sampling of various materials that an be printed with the new 3D printer. \" width=\"255\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.daed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Swatches.png 545w, https:\/\/blog.daed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Swatches-300x279.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 255px) 100vw, 255px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\">With the Stratasys J850 Pro, we can now fine-tune the hardness, opacity, and physical material properties of our 3D prints, allowing us to better simulate the properties of engineering materials, like polypropylene. This produces better prototypes that are more accurate to the final design materials.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\">We can also create highly functional engineering prototypes using Digital ABS Plus, a heat-resistant 3D printing material designed to simulate the more durable plastics seen in larger production runs. And by using a lower-strength low-cost material called Draft Grey, we can also print at much higher speeds, allowing us to more quickly print early, lower-fidelity prototypes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our new printer is capable of producing prints up to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">19.3 x 15.35 x 7.9 in. And because it interfaces directly with our CAD software, we save the time we used to spend exporting generic 3D files.
